The biggest bass I have ever caught!!
"Fishing in August can be really tough. The Original Zipper is my go to bait when fishing is sluggish because it's profile is like none I've seen. A 6 and 7 isn't bad in August". -Bob Baker, Tulsa Ok 40-50 per day on Zippers ![]() "Caught this at a GRDA lake that was built above Lake Hudson called the Pumpback (WR Hollway Reservoir) - they draw the lake down as much as 12 feet each day through the turbines and then "pump back" the water. No gas engines are allowed on the lake so you see every kind of boat imaginable powered by up to six trolling motors - it used to be my secret but the secret is definitely out. The state record smallmouth was caught out of here three years ago (over seven pounds) but the record has since been broken. The lake is all rock and 135 feet deep in some spots - I have been fishing it since it was impounded more than 30 years ago. The smallmouth weighed 5# 12oz. and the largemouth was just over 5 1/2 - like I said, had three others on over 5 that spit the worm or grubs we were using. Caught the smallmouth on your 4" Zipper Worm in Green Weenie and the largemouth on a Gene Larew grub that they have since stopped making that looked like a grub you guys would make - in fact, I would recommend you looking into it and I can show you the Larew grub. Most of the other fish were caught on your 4" Zipper in that color or Watermelon Pepper. That next weekend caught 26 (10 smallmouth) but nothing over 3#s - didn't fish this last weekend. Am off to Lake Murray near Ardmore next week for my annual trip - usually catch 40-50 smallmouth and largemouth per day on Zippers, Craws and grubs." -Jerry Gentzen I love to use the jig heads ![]() "A guy my dad works with gave him some of your products a few years ago.We fell in love with them. ![]() This was caught by Troy with a Zipper 3' Pink Glow Tail. Biggest of the year!
![]() "6 lb, my biggest of the year this bait [Monkey Bug, Green Pumpkin] is great! Thanks" Bo Anderson Yummy Zipper Worms ![]() "My wife and I went fishing recently at Kississimme Lake and were having a good day fishing---She has been bass fishing only a few years and the last year upgraded to a baitcaster and has been catching bass mainly on live bait but graduating to fishing with artificial bait, worms mainly. Catching a few smaller bass up to 3 pounds. That all changed on February 23rd of 2010. I went for shiners and because of the cold weather and water temp shiners were not avabable. We decided to worm fish and for her to have a day of practice. Our goal was for her to land a fish bigger than 3 lbs. We had only one original 5" zipper in the proper color for the lake so I gave it to her to fish. By noon she had landed 2 small fish and a 5.2. A great day and accomplishment for her and us by noon. The zipper was about to fall apart so I looked for superglue to keep the only one we had together enough to fish with no luck--- I had done this many times before!! We took a break for lunch and went back to our motorhome and I found some Zippers I had stored. They were in the same color but were not original 5 " zips. they were longer and had legs on them. I cut off the 4 legs and shortened the bait a bit to make it look like the original as much as possible. It ended up very close----I only had one package of these. After lunch we started to catch fish on these! At 5 o'clock that afternoon my wife hooked and we landed her fish of a lifetime---10.9---- I weighed it on digital scales before we put it in the live well. Needless to say our effort to reprpduce the origianal zipper worm paid off!!!! I have been fishing zippers for probably 10 years or so have been very successful with them always. True love ----- is giving the last Zipper worm to your wife when you are in middle of an active school of big fish!!!" Randy Brown |
